Master Plans

This document is an update to the 1993 Denver Bicycle Master Plan (DBMP) which sought to develop and implement a comprehensive bicycling program by developing a framework for a physical bicycle system as well as education, promotion, enforcement, public policy, and information distribution programs.

CPD Planning Services prepare Comprehensive, Corridor and Small Area Plans for Denver ; and manage Denvers Historic Preservation program.

The City has worked with RTD, CDOT and DRCOG to develop the Denver Union Station Master Plan. This document will serve as the blueprint for redeveloping and preserving Denvers historic Union Station and 19.5 acres of surrounding land. The Downtown Multimodal Access Plan (DMAP) will be a detailed, comprehensive plan for vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle and rail access into and throughout Downtown Denver over the next 20-25 years. Additionally, the plan needs to consider long-term land use planning, infrastructure improvements, and streetscape elements that are needed to ensure quality connections between Downtown and its immediately adjacent neighborhoods. Created through a two-year public process,the Game Plan outlines new directions for our parks and recreation system,based on values and priorities identified by Denver ’s residents.

The Pedestrian Master Plan is a citywide plan developed as a recommendation of Blueprint Denver. The goal of the Plan is to establish a mobility system that will encourage and enhance alternative modes of transportation, i.e., walking, biking and transit, within Denver . The Plan has identified a pedestrian route network in coordination with the Parks and Recreations Department's Green Streets, and developed specific policies related to pedestrian mobility.

The Denver Sanitary Sewer Master Plan, last updated in the early 1980’s, is now being revised in a program that will literally bring it into the twenty-first century. The Plan is a planning document that will determine the capital needs of the City regarding Sanitary Sewer facilities. The City and County of Denver Sanitary Sewer Design and Technical Manual is the basis for the proposed modifications and improvements the new revision contains.

The Denver Storm Drainage Master Plan, originated in 1989, is now being revised in the first phase of a five phase program that will literally bring it into the twenty-first century. The first phase of this work includes 15 of the approximately 80 storm water drainage basins that cover the City and County of Denver . These basins extend over 41 square miles of the most developed neighborhoods of the City.

The Stormwater Management Program is a comprehensive multi-year plan to upgrade and modernize the City and County of Denver ’s storm drainage system.
